Ari (they/them) is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. They completed their MA in Community Mental Health Counseling at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, in 2015. They grew up in Vermont and are excited to be back after many years living and studying in Colorado and California.

Ari works with individual adults, relationship partners, and children of all ages and genders.  Their style is non-directive, strengths-based, warm, and creative, with strong influences from attachment theory, relational theory, and liberation psychology. They specialize in issues related to gender and identity development and affirmation, intersections of identity, emotion regulation, attachment, and trauma, including systemic and intergenerational traumas, as well as LGBQIA+ and transgender related issues and stressors. Ari is skilled in non-directive play and art therapy with kids (and adults)! And in supporting folks who identify or live somewhere “in-between”.

As a white clinician, Ari strives to practice anti-racism and anti-oppression work in their personal life as well as in their clinical work. They understand individuals in the context of their environments, and the social and institutional systems that impact their lives. They are highly aware of the impacts of stress, trauma, and oppression on mental and emotional health, and approach the therapeutic relationship as a supportive partnership and space to work towards freedom, self-understanding, and increased wellness.

Ari sees folks out of the Winooski Office.

Ari currently accepts Vermont Medicaid, BCBS, Cigna, Beacon, Tricare, and MVP insurance.
