Danielle Femia (she/her) completed her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Syracuse University and is a Rostered Psychotherapist in Vermont. She also holds a BS from Syracuse University where she studied Psychology and Public Health with a focus on neuroscience and epigenetic research. Danielle has extensive experience helping children and families overcome obstacles, process traumatic experiences, and improve upon both communication and coping skills. Danielle likes to incorporate aspects and fundamentals of neuroscience and epigenetics into her practice, helping clients of all ages understand how the brain operates & impacts thought patterns and behaviors in a relatable and understandable way.
Danielle employs a collaborative and eclectic approach to treatment, drawing from CBT, DBT, play therapy, family therapy, art therapy, adventure-based therapy, and psychodynamic therapy. Danielle strives to meet clients where they’re at and has a unique ability to adapt various treatment modalities to best meet clients’ needs, interests, and abilities. Danielle works with people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds but has specialized experience working with families, young adults, and children ages 4-21. Danielle practices within a strengths-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed framework and is committed to honoring diversity and cultivating a safe therapeutic environment free from judgement or discrimination.
When Danielle is not in the office, she loves to spend time outdoors, hiking or biking and enjoying all the beauty Vermont has to offer. You can expect to find Danielle in the mountains hiking or at home crocheting and cuddling with her two furry cats.
Danielle see’s clients out of the Waterfront office, and is able to accept BCBS, Medicaid, Cigna, and MVP.
