Erin Kellar, LCMHC, AAP

Clinician

Accepting new clients on a limited basis.

Erin(she/her)  is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and received her Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Vermont University. She has lived and/or worked in various residential therapeutic communities, where she learned first-hand that supportive relationships can be a route to healing and transformation. These experiences helped to shape Erin’s clinical approach, which is rooted in Humanistic Theories, all of which underline the importance of a strong therapeutic relationship. Erin works to co-create a space with clients in which they feel prioritized and tended to, and which leads them towards a life that is manageable, meaningful, values-based and whole.

Erin primarily works with adults and couples navigating issues including but not limited to life transitions, chronic illness, PTSD and relational trauma, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Anxiety, Depression, and substance use and recovery. Her practice is trauma informed, and she uses a variety of modalities in order to best meet clients where they are. Included in the modalities she pulls from are Dialectical Behavior Therapy,  Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems/ Parts Work. Folks who work with Erin can expect a dynamic therapeutic experience that is warm and welcoming to all of who you are.

For work with couples, Erin uses Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), a research based and attachment science informed approach that helps partners identify the negative cycles that keep them feeling stuck and disconnected, in service of restructuring their bond to find closeness.

Erin is also excited to provide Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy to those experiencing obsessions and compulsions, with the intention of helping you to build distress tolerance around uncertainty, and access more flexibility in living a life guided by values instead of fear.

When Erin is not working, you can find her swimming, catching some live music or having a shared meal with friends.

Erin is currently able to accept most insurances, except for Cigna at this time.
