Melissa King, LCMHC
Clinician
Currently not accepting new clients.
Melissa (she/her) received a Master of Clinical Psychology degree from Lesley University in 2012 and has been working at Vermont Center for Resiliency since 2021. Melissa works with adolescents and adults who are navigating issues with anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma and other life transitions or challenges.
Melissa’s practice is rooted in building a safe and trusting relationship where she can meet folks where they are. She then strives to work with her clients, as partners in the therapeutic process, to them get to where they would like to be. Melissa believes that mutual respect, authenticity and bravery are essential to the process, and welcomes any client who is feeling ready to work with her to make their lives better. Melissa previously taught high school for 15 years, and her experience in education has colored the lens through which she now approaches counseling;
Melissa uses techniques aligned with trauma informed and neurodiversity affirming modalities including: psychoeducation, CBT, DBT, IFS and motivational interviewing.
Outside of the office, Melissa enjoys being out in nature and spending time with her (two and four-footed) family.
Melissa sees folks out of the Shelburne office, but is only able to offer telehealth services at this time.
Melissa is currently able to accept Vermont Medicaid, BCBS, CBA, and MVP insurance, as well as self-pay (sliding scale rate discussions welcome as needed).
